My Angel...

It came so quick and sudden, and she asked me not to cry…
But the tears they flowed, though I was bold, my emotions couldn't lie.

God I know you need her, but it's Christmas time down here…
I ask that you will grant my prayer, to let her stay this year.
If I had loved her as I should, would you still take her from me?
If she is gone, and I'm alone, who will decorate our tree.

So here I am, out here alone, and if she has to leave…
So lonely will the colors shine, upon my Christmas tree.
Without her here, to hold my hand, you know how sad I'll be.
I know she is a special one, and only lent to me…

She is my laughter, when I am down, she leads when I can't see…
When times are hard, and things look bad, she's always there for me.
So I am here, to stand for her, and plead for her sweet love…
And each Christmas, we will sing your praise, from here to you above.

If you will grant me, this special prayer, and let her stay right here…
I will love her all the more, for this our special year.
