Chico's Memorial page...
The best partner an Officer could ask for.

This page is dedicated to "Chico". A Belgian Malouise K9. Chico was an older partner when he came to work for the Montgomery Police Department. Having served in the armed forces at some point, he sported a US AFB tattoo in his left ear.
Gentle with children and ever alert, he served with Corporal D.G. Walker for 3 years until he was retired. Trained in two languages, hand signals, and voice, he was the ultimate partner. He was adopted upon his retirement by D.G. and taken home where he enjoyed the children and the occasional ride.
When D.G. was given a new partner he had to make room at home, The wife and I took Chico in to live with us for awhile. The following pictures are of Chico with us remodeling the home we were moving into. I wish that I had taken other pictures of Chico, but hindsight is 20/20 as they say...
Gray around the muzzle, but loving in the heart, Chico quickly became Marissa's favorite. He protected her as if he had been her's all his life. He was ever playful for his age, and never became grumpy. Although he was all business whenever the need arose.

Sadly Chico passed this year due to cancer in his right front leg. He will be missed on the streets... but he will remain in our hearts forever...

The above is Chico laying on the kitchen floor of the house that we were remodeling , or course I had to cut the heads off everyone!

Chico has decided that Marissa should share some of her lunch with him!

Marissa feeds Chico some of his favorite... French Fries!!
