I forgive...

God knows that I really loved you, and never wished you ill...
But I broke your heart, and I bear the pain, of sorrow that just won't heal.
The pain we hurled upon our words, still echos late at night...
Sometimes we tried, sometimes we cried, sometimes we saw the light.

I tell you this to ease my pain, and hope that it will help...
I have always forgiven you, but I can't forgive myself.
For both of us, can share the blame, for love that we helped end...
And from my heart, till my dying day, this prayer to you I send.

I forgive you for the hurt I feel, and all the tears that fell...
Without you here, is where I live, upon this Earth my hell.
I forgive you for the way I hurt, when lovers pass me by...
I pray your heart is healing now, and you never have to cry.

I forgive you for the trust you broke, that I held so dear to me...
I think of all the times you cried, when I refused to see.
And I forgive you most, for loving me, and hope that you don't weep...
My only wish, as I leave this world, is that you've forgiven me.
