Speak...

Will you not, speak to me, of the weather, your work, or heart...
it's been so long since we have talked, our hearts so far apart.
Here we pass from day to day, our feelings hid within...
the world must wonder, what each has done, that we can't love again.

As if the world could see through me, I hang my head in shame...
but in your heart, you know today, we both can share the blame.
Punishment to me you send, and without you I shall live...
But can you not forget the past?, and learn how to forgive?

The next time that we cross our paths, I will try hard not to see...
a part of me that walks away, the part that you don't see.
My heart still beats a faster pace, when you are passing near...
but words unspoken from your lips, are words I cannot hear.

So punish me ,if you must, your hatred I will bear...
but you still know, deep in your heart, if you  need me, I'll be here.
Forgiven you, I have done, and feel the peace within...
but silence from  a heart I loved, brings back the pain again.

Where would love be, if everywhere, we all refused to speak...
because someone, had hurt our hearts, and we were just too weak,
to forgive...
